Erica received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Delaware’s Honors Program in 2017. She is currently a Ph.D. student at CMU working in Keith Cook’s Cardiopulmonary Engineering Group and Adam Feinberg’s Regenerative Biomaterials and Therapeutics Group. Erica’s research focuses on the design and fabrication of biomimetic respiratory support devices for lung disease patients. The research aims to replace the plastic gas exchange membranes of artificial lungs in contact with blood with an entirely natural interface capable of mitigating the formation and accumulation of clot.
