Congrats to Quentin Jallerat for receiving a STAR Award from SFB
Congratulation to Quentin Jallerat for receiving a STAR Award from the Society For Biomaterials. He will present his research entitled “Micropatterning Directional ECM Cues in Hydrogel-based Scaffolds for Cardiac Tissue Engineering” at the upcoming annual meeting in Charlotte, NC, in April.
Can Science and Technology Fix a Broken Heart? (HuffPost)
Dr. Cynthia Thaik, Cardiologist, Author, and Founder Of Revitalize-U, interviews Prof. Feinberg about the current technologies available for heart repair.
“Conversations like this one — between a clinical cardiologist like myself and a biomedical researcher like Adam — can help provide the public with a better understanding of the complex nature of current heart treatments, and also give us some insight into how new research will impact our future.”
Featured on Cover of the February 2015 issue of Nature Methods
Great job by John and Quentin! Our research on Patterning on Topography (PoT) is the cover image of the February 2015 issue of Nature Methods. Read the article, “Conformal nanopatterning of extracellular matrix proteins onto topographically complex surfaces.”
“In Vitro Expansion of Corneal Endothelial Cells on Biomimetic Substrates”
Congratulations to Rachelle and co-authors on our recent publication in Scientific Reports titled “In Vitro Expansion of Corneal Endothelial Cells on Biomimetic Substrates.” This article describes our work to use matrix composition and stiffness to maintain corneal endothelial cell phenotype during in vitro expansion.
Prof Feinberg receives the NSF CAREER Award
Prof Feinberg has received the 2015 NSF CAREER Award to support research and education into 3D Bioprinting. The grant is entitled “CAREER: 3D Printing of Heart Muscle Using Soft Hydrogels” and will be conducted over the next 5 years.
“Conformal nanopatterning of extracellular matrix proteins onto topographically complex surfaces”
Yan, Quentin and John are co-first authors on our recent publication in Nature Methods titled “Conformal nanopatterning of extracellular matrix proteins on topographically complex surfaces.”
Congratulations to TJ for Receiving a Bertucci Graduate Fellowship
Congratulations to PhD student TJ Hinton, who has been award a prestigious Bertucci Graduate Fellowship in the amount of $20,000. This fellowship was created through the generosity of John and Claire Bertucci and it was established to provide merit fellowships to graduate students pursuing doctoral degrees in Engineering in CIT.
Publication: “Shrink Wrapping Cells in a Defined Extracellular Matrix to Modulate the Chemo-Mechanical Microenvironment”
Rachelle, John and Amrita are co-first authors on our latest publication on “Shrink Wrapping Cells in a Defined Extracellular Matrix to Modulate the Chemo-Mechanical Microenvironment” published in the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering. This article is part of the 2014 Young Innovator issue and the work will be presented at the 2014 Biomedical Engineering Society meeting in October as part of the Young Innovator Symposium.
